What are the donation amounts?
You can set donation amounts from $5 to $1000 per message. Common amounts are:
- $5-10 for simple thank you notes
- $25-50 for customer appreciation
- $100+ for major recognition/rewards
Custom amounts are also available for enterprise customers.
How do you ensure donations reach charities?
We partner with a Doner Advised Fund (DAF) to process donations as directed grants. We assess a small platform fee on top of the donation amount to pay for this service (which is not tax deductible).
All donations are tracked and verified. Senders will receive tax documentation once their donation has been processed by our DAF.
How do custom charities work?
Our DAF allows directing donations to any registered 501(c)(3) but we cannot guarantee that all directed grants will reach them. At the end of each month, if a charity has accumulated more than $50, we will direct a grant via our DAF. If our DAF cannot reach them, we will route the donations to our default charity - GiveWell.
Are you a 501(3)(c)?
Not yet, MeaningfulMessage is currently just an LLC- we are a conduit and take a small platform fee for providing this service.
What is your fee?
We charge 10.00% of the donation amount.
Are meaningful messages tax-deductible?
Yes - We provide you a receipt of the transmission of the donation to the doner advised fund. The platform fee is not tax-deductible however.
